go Recently, I made the decision to go vegan for 2 weeks. This is by no means the result of watching any documentaries (What The Health or Cowspiracy for example) that could have swayed my decision, it is simply down to wanting to see the health benefits and physique/weight changes, if any.

free online casino in australia The whole reason this came about is because my two friends told me they had recently adopted this healthy lifestyle. Initially I was very skeptical as all I have ever heard are negative comments to becoming vegan, i.e. “you won’t get enough protein in your diet without meat” and the usual “all they eat are fruits and vegetables”…
So for reasons of my own, I didn’t think twice about trying it out for myself. However, after doing a little research and trying my friends delicious meals, I realised there are a handful of other food sources with the same amount of protein, and that there too a number of fitness professionals who are vegan (and in incredible shape).
From as young as I can remember, I’ve always had dairy, meat and eggs etc. in my diet, so for me it is a very unusual lifestyle choice to adopt. Having come from a background as an athlete, swimming 9 times a week + gym work, I would eat approximately 2100-2300 calories a day due to the high volume of training I was doing. However, after finishing swimming in April 2015, I know I needed to reduce my calorie intake as I was beginning to put weight on almost instantly. I don’t track my macros 24/7 (only before major events to shred down a little), but I have approximately 1800 calories a day now.
I’m trying my best to stick to 1800 calories whilst I’m vegan, although my first few days were not the best (especially my first day where I ate around 1500 calories, with very minimal protein!). However, this was simply due to my lack of knowledge and research into the correct foods suitable for vegans that were high in protein.
I have been documenting my thoughts, current physique, recipes and general life so far, and you can take a look at the videos below to see how I’m getting on…
